Ultrasound is using the energy in sound waves to help stimulate healing in tissue that has been damaged by sprains and strains. It is different than diagnostic ultrasound.
The ultrasound head emits these sound waves and warms up the tissue which can then be massaged or worked on to improve its function.
Interferential Current (IFC)
IFC is electrical stimulation of muscles to cause a relaxation in spastic muscles. This can help reduce spasms and improve local function.
Not everyone is a candidate for these types of therapy nor is every circumstance a situation where it might be used. Each person and circumstance are analyzed on a visit by visit basis.
We make use of regional massage to help areas of the body get ready for changes needed to improve function. We also use exercise in the room to work out a particular area. These exercises can then be used at home for helping to maintain the changes made with treatment.
